Nenu Saitam

Upon request from friends, I have tried to translate the 'Nenu Saitam' story into English.
The name is derived out of a very famous and inspiring verse by SriSri that tries to portray the undaunted human-spirit that says how ever small you may be you can still contribute to the greater cause.

Master , Master called out the disciple.
The Master, emerging out of meditation, slowly opened his eyes and looked askance at the disciple.
"You are always so concerned about the greater good of the world, please also think about the welfare of your disciples."
"My son, what troubles you?"
"Look at my dhoti Master, it is on the verge of becoming completely useless. If you could get a new one..."
The Master looked at the disciple's dhoti.
Truly, it was tattered.
Saying "Ok", the Master got a new dhoti brought for the disciple.
The disciple took the new dhoti gleefully and left.
After some time, the Master, to check how well his techings had been learnt by his disciples, went to the disciple's room.
"My boy, is everything all well now?"
"Yes, this new dhoti is very comfortable."
"Do you want anything else?"
"No Sir, I dont require anything else."
"Now that you have the new dhoti, what did you do with the old one?"
"I am using it as a sheet to lay down on."
"Then what did you do with the old sheet?"
"I am using it as window curtain."
"Oh! Then I think you threw away the old window curtain?"
"Oh No Sir! I am using it as kitchen cloth."
"Then the old kitchen cloth?"
"Just now I was using it to mop the floor."
"And the old mop!?"
...
"Tell me son!"
"I did not know how to use it any furhter, it was reduced to shreds.
So...
I was thinking I would use it as a wick to burn in the oil lamps in the evening."

It is our responsibility to fully utilize the resources available to us. The Resources available to us now are not a legacy handed down to us by our forefathers; rather they are a loan that we have to repay to our children. We should make it our duty to restrict the wastage of resources.
